E-Signature Bill Signed into NY State Law
After many years the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, and the Governor’s office, announced that the e-signature bill has been signed into law by Governor Cuomo. The bill passed overwhelmingly in both the Assembly and the Senate, and Governor Cuomo put his executive seal on the bill just a short time ago.
Filers will be able to submit tax authorization forms with an electronic signature instead of the traditional wet signature. New York and Hawaii were the only states in the nation that prohibited this.
