He underscored how accessibility to the Fund for Responding to Loss and Damage is critical for local and regional governments, including simplified application procedures, direct funding channels, and technical support. December 6, 2024 | UCLG ASPAC, represented by President of the Sustainability Committee, Selangor State, Malaysia, attended a High-Level Working Session and Mayors’ Forum atCOP16, organised by Local Governments and Municipal Authorities (LGMA) and United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD). Second Urban Mekong Corridor Dialogue: Connecting Rapidly Growing Towns and Cities for Inclusive Green Development

December 5-6, 2024 | UCLG ASPAC, under the framework of the Mekong Corridor Initiative (MCI), organised the Second Urban Mekong Corridor Dialogue (UMCD) in collaboration with Cities Alliance. Held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on December 5-6, 2024, this was the continuation of the First Urban Mekong Dialogue (CLICK HERE), marking a more significant step toward promoting sustainable and inclusive urban development along the Mekong River. Makati Commences its First Voluntary Local Review

December 3, 2024 | UCLG ASPAC welcomed the initiative of the City Government of Makati in strengthening its commitment to the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development as they announced the beginning of their Voluntary Local Review (VLR) under the leadership of Mayor Mar-Len Abigail Binay on December 3, 2024.? Gebyar Ciliwung Bersih: Public Awareness Raising on River Conservation

November 23, 2024 | UCLG ASPAC joined a movement to raise public awareness on Ciliwung River conservation through Ciliwung Day 2024: Gebyar Ciliwung Bersih (Clean Ciliwung Movement/GCB)’s event located in GCB Office Compound, Jakarta, on November 23, 2024.?Ciliwung is one of the largest rivers crossing the City of Jakarta that connects many important sites and functions. It has become the lifeline of the city, and its conservation plays a big role in urban development. Click

December 20, 2024 | UCLG ASPAC supported the workshop of Minimum (Public) Service Standard (Standar Pelayanan Minimum/SPM) held by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) Indonesia in Jakarta. The event monitored and evaluated the implementation of SPM reflected on local governments’ data submission in electronic form as required by the Minister of Home Affairs Regulation No. 59 Year 2021.
