E-mail Best practices
1. If you receive an email from a sender you do not know, exercise caution and;
a. Do not open any attachments
b. Do not click on any links or URLS
c. Do not submit any sensitive or secure information (usernames, passwords, financial info, etc) by reply of via an opened link.
d. Do try to telephone the sender to verify its authenticity
e. If the above fails, delete the message. If the sender is legit they’ll try to make contact with you again.
2. If you receive an email from a sender you do know and it contains an obscure request;
a. Follow standard company procedures for dealing with such an enquiry
b. Telephone the sender to verify its authenticity.
