Many articles by experts on Learning & Development suggest that the year 2016 will see a major shift in learning delivery methodology. Many believe that e-learning will be most sought after medium. Learning will converge on mobiles and tablets (and looking at the flexibility it offers), will impact the traditional learning method in a big way. With intelligence and smart technology pouring into all domains, experts are also talking about AR, Gesture based learning and Game based learning to become popular. All this is being talked about and mentioned as these offer a flexible and user-friendly way of learning.
I personally feel that capability building is still seen as a serious exercise by organizations, and hence, the importance of ILT (Instructor-Led Training) will NOT take any hit. The knowledge transfer that happens via ILT is more reliable. It offers a two-way dialogue during the sessions, not monotonous and we still respect our trainer as a 'guru' (at least during the training session).
Fancier jargons' and terminologies will continue to surprise us and make our vocabulary richer, but there will always be a high regard and demand for human trainers, and they will play a major role in upgrading the skills of employees in across organizations in 2016 as well.
