So the worlds first Government digital currency to run along side their own FIAT currency has been launched in Sweden , the E-Krona has bumped up the race for other countries to follow suit.
Apparently the British Chancellor has said they are not far away from launching Britcoin.
Are we seeing Countries finally taking on board Crypto currencies OR are governments looking to cash in on the phenomenon?
Well lets face it maybe FIAT currencies have had their day, FIAT currencies are fungible which means basically that a five pound note is equal to a five pound note so if you give someone a five pound note today it will still be worth five pound OR worth less in years to come, but hold on if you gave someone a Bitcoin in 2010 that was worth 9 cents and it value today is around 40k, well they have certainly had a result.
I am sure the sharp witted governments around the world have though of this, but will this start to centralize digital currency? remember the whole idea with Blockchain and Bitcoin is de-centralization, or will the E-Krona and Britcoin and all the others that will follow force up the value of the traditional crypto currencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum? well that remains to be seen.
It would be a very brave person to try and predict the next few years in the digital currency world, however maybe a punt on crypto Investing would not be a bad thing at the moment
