E-commerce giant, Amazon has opened its first ever bricks and mortar
E-commerce giant, Amazon has opened its first ever bricks and mortar for fashion retail in Manchester. It is naming itself as "Clicks and Mortar". A play on word with their online presence and the new store. Amazon will have a yearlong plan to establish the end goal to improve for their future and high street.
Amazon has a reputation of dominating over the high street, and due to this, stores are closing down as they are struggling to stay above the water. To the contrary, Amazon Fashion will be hosting the pop-up store. The strategy behind the minds is to support the small independent business its platform. Amazon is giving something back in return to give the companies the change to expand and develop into something more significant.
The effects of Amazon's test pilot will be submitted to the UK government to support its effort to find new strategies to reinvigorate local physical retail, according to TechCrunch.
It will be fascinating to see how Amazon them self will develop for the future and how the Amazon family to progress. Will we see more pop-up stores from them?
