Know Your Audience - Legally and Practically - With Scott Jennings
In this episode of The Pipeline Podcast, Scott emphasizes the paramount importance of understanding your audience in project communication. Effective communication, whether written or verbal, is not only essential for efficiency but also carries significant legal implications. Failing to communicate with the right parties as specified in a contract can lead to a complete waiver of rights. Real-life examples illustrate the significance of this: one involving the Owner's responsibility in signing off on changes and the other highlighting the Contractor's role in communicating directly with the Owner. To ensure effective communication, it's crucial to send personalized and informative letters rather than poorly organized emails with cryptic attachments. Striking a balance between contractual obligations and practical relationships is key to successful project management.
