Halla E120 Mogadishu Accident Updates
On July 11th, 2023, a Halla Airline Embraer EMB-120, registration 6O-AAD, suffered a left main gear collapse, veering off Mogadishu's runway 05, leading to substantial damage and two minor injuries. An investigation was opened by Somalia's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) without any initial report of an anomaly by the crew. On July 29th, Somalia's Ministry of Transport revealed that the aircraft encountered windshear at a low height during landing, causing loss of control, and confirmed that the aircraft was airworthy with the crew qualified and experienced, AvHerald reports:
Divided Indian Ministries Clash Over IBC Moratorium for Leased Aircraft
The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has urged for an exemption for leased aircraft from the asset moratorium rule of India's Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), warning it could heighten leasing costs for all carriers. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), however, has resisted the proposal, arguing that such a waiver might deter investors from offering resolution plans for bankrupt airlines, and could incite similar demands from other sectors. The disagreement has emerged after Go First declared voluntary bankruptcy, and discussions are ongoing between the ministries to reach an agreeable solution, Economic Times reports:

Oman and Belarus moving closer to each other
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Oman and Belarus have signed an air services agreement to strengthen civil aviation ties between the two nations. The agreement, signed by Naif bin Ali al Abri, Chairman of CAA, and Igor Golub, Director of Aviation Department of the Belarussian Ministry of Transport and Communications, will enable national carriers to establish direct links between Muscat and Minsk. The pact includes provisions to optimize operational and technical aspects, enhance air transport services, simplify freight movement, and facilitate tourism, economic, and social interactions between Oman and Belarus, Zawya reports:
