Dynamo found its Executive Producer!

I have wonderful news: We've officially hired Carl Mueller to be Dynamo 's Executive Producer!

Hundreds of very talented people applied for this job, and I am grateful to all of them. I spoke to about two dozen of them in person or over video. Four really excellent candidates submitted final pitches. Dynamo is going to need a ton of producers and storytellers in the future, and I hope we can stay in touch.

So why Carl?

Because Dynamo’s success depends on us making videos about how business explains the world that millions of people love, and Carl has a long track record of doing exactly that.

Three times now, Carl has been tasked with launching and building YouTube channels for business media brands — Cheddar, Morning Brew, and The Hustle. He nailed it each time, building teams that created sophisticated, fun, and extremely popular videos. Under his watch, Cheddar grew to 1 million YouTube subscribers. He had The Hustle on an even faster trajectory.

Cheddar, Morning Brew, and Hubspot are great companies, but none of them are focused on cinematic journalism the way Dynamo is. We can’t wait to see what Carl can do with the resources we’ve put together for this endeavor.

By the way, this isn’t the first time I’ve had the pleasure of hiring Carl.?

Almost a decade ago, Carl was one of our first interns at INSIDER, and six months later, he was the first intern we converted to full time. We did that because he was innovative, hard-working, and a delightful person to be around at the office. After a while, he left to go make a big career for himself. He sure did.

Now I get to learn from him!?

Ultimately, Dynamo is going to succeed if “dynamos” like YOU love our videos.?
