Microsoft provides comprehensive Applications that cover all needs of a customer who wants to work with CRM. But not always customers understand the difference between them. Today I will give you a short overview of these differences between Dynamics 365 Sales and Dynamics 365 Marketing.
Definitions
Dynamics 365 Sales enables salespeople to build an efficient sales process, strong relationships with their customers, take actions based on insights, and close sales faster. Use Dynamics 365 Sales to keep track of your accounts and contacts, nurture your sales from lead to order, and create sales collateral. It automates sales tasks and streamlines the collection, analysis, and distribution of sales data.
Dynamics 365 Marketing is a marketing-automation application that helps build business relationships by creating personalized experiences and helps you reach more customers, strengthen your marketing capabilities, and increase your sales opportunities.
Features
Dynamics 365 Sales:
- The process lets you know which steps to take next to close deals faster. You have sales pipeline which helps to avoid missing some steps.
- Get actionable insights and suggestions based on how you work (real-time analytics based on historical data and predictive information). You can have reminders for closing opportunities, statistics about leads` progress.
- Manage accounts, contacts. Find all activities (appointments, phone calls, etc.) related to a customer or opportunity in one central place, so you have the context you need to do your job.
- Collect together data from CRM, LinkedIn (Sales Navigator), Office 365 tools. You will have integrated Outlook emails, calls.
- Goal Management
- Internal communication with sellers via Microsoft Teams
Dynamics 365 Marketing:
- Helps to plan, automate and monitor full customers journey. Different actions can be monitored: Email opens, email reads, website registrations, etc.
- Calculate the score according to these actions. Prioritize leads. Work with the hottest.
- Quick creation of designed emails and providing its bulk sending. We can add text, graphics, images. The preview feature will show us how the email looks like on different devices.
- Create a multichannel campaign. Dynamics 365 for Marketing is integrated with LinkedIn (Dynamics 365 Connector for LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms).
- Also, you can use Dynamics 365 Portals to publish its event website, marketing pages, and online surveys.
- Easy-to-create surveys make it simple to gather actionable feedback from customers. Understand individual customer needs and expectations so you can grow relationships and revenue.
- Organize and promote in-person or webinar events, which include an online portal that attendees can use to review the event schedule and speakers, and to register for the event.
The most important entities
Dynamics 365 Sales:
- A Lead is a prospective customer (individual/business organization)
- Accounts are organizations with which you have a relationship.
- Contacts are individual people with whom you have a relationship generally customers or contacts of customers.
- Opportunities are the core record type in the sales process, they represent a potential sale for a specific customer.
- Product catalog is a very important concept in Dynamics 365. We can do Product configuration with Pricing information, Discount List, Unit Group.
- Quote contains the products or services customer interested in and asked for a price. After the customer review, he/she agrees to continue for placing order.
- Order is a confirmation of a sale that to be invoiced and placed for further proceeding for logistics. An opportunity converted into order if it is won.
- After the order placed successfully the Invoices are generated in the system. It is a payment.
Dynamics 365 Marketing:
- Marketing lists in Microsoft Dynamics 365 provide a way for you to group your accounts, contacts and leads so that you can market to specific segments more effectively. Marketing lists contain “members”—lead, contact, or account records—that meet a specific criteria or are managed manually by users.
- Campaigns help you organize your efforts for marketing projects over a period of time. Campaigns are also designed to provide insight into your return on investment for each campaign. They allow you to track campaign spend and response so you know exactly how effective your marketing efforts are.
