“This isn’t working.” After running the numbers and reviewing the data, I had to admit to my manager that the process he’d had in place since before I started, had reached its expiration date. The business was changing and the competitive edge the company had once enjoyed was fleeting. Luckily for me, he was open to feedback and valued me coming to him with solutions and not just problems. In today’s ever-changing work environment, Teams need to constantly evolve and refine their processes to stay competitive and maintain high performance. One of the most effective ways to identify areas for growth and development is by implementing a structured feedback system. Now, I’m not suggesting adding another layer to your current Performance Management System. However, a team-centric and well-designed feedback loop creates a culture of continuous improvement, where Team Members openly share insights, offer constructive criticism, and celebrate successes. This not only uncovers blind spots, but also empowers Team Members to address challenges collaboratively.
