Dying Before You Die
The Monk by the Sea (Der M?nch am Meer) by Caspar David Friedrich

Dying Before You Die

You're racing against the clock, trying to cram as much as possible into that bustling mind of yours. Watching videos at double speed, zipping through audiobooks at triple, and lining your life up in endless to-do lists.?

Everything’s got to tick like clockwork for you to keep pace with this madly spinning world which seems to hit a new speed record every day.?

But eventually, we all hit the ultimate pause. So, why not pause before that—why not 'die' before you die?

Let me explain what I mean. Dying before the end is about letting go. About hitting pause on the relentless pursuit of more—more information, more achievements, more of everything—and allowing yourself to just be.?

It's in this quiet space, away from the chaos, where you will find something incredible: life.

Think about it.?

When was the last time you allowed yourself to simply sit in silence??

No distractions, no background noise, just you and the quiet.?

It may sound unnerving, even a little scary and old-fashioned in our hyper-connected world.?

This rush we're all caught up in, like we're trying to outrun our own shadows. The more we chase, the less we catch.?

Stop. Take a breath. Look around.?

This is your life, happening right now, not on the next page of your planner or the next alert on your phone.

It's in these moments of stillness that we truly connect with ourselves.

It's not about dropping everything and renouncing the modern world. It's about finding moments of stillness amidst the noise.?

It could be as simple as turning off your phone for an hour, taking a walk without counting your steps, or just sitting with a cup of coffee and watching the world go by.?

These moments are like little acts of rebellion against the tyranny of the urgent.

So, here's my challenge to you: find a moment today to 'die' before you die.?

To stop, breathe, and just be.?

Let the world spin without you for a minute.?

It will keep turning, I promise.?

Take it a step further and stand in the presence of an artwork.?

Art asks us to pause, to look, to feel.?

An artwork doesn't change its message if you stare at it longer, but your understanding, your connection to it deepens.?

It's a reminder that some of the most beautiful aspects of life unfold only when we stop rushing past them.

And when you step back into the race, you might just find you're running with a little more purpose and a lot more joy.

Because in the end, when all is said and done, it's not about how fast you lived, but how fully.?

Do not wait until the end to realize that.?

Live now.

The veracity of death and dying, will not even look at the reality or think it . let us live the present with a sense of purpose and need to ensure we add value to GenX and beyond. Cause and Effect isn't my style nor is pause and reflect. Footprint in the sand ...our journey of life.

I am enjoying your insightful and inspiring writing and am in such a transition (Finding my way back to connection) from an overdose of thought work and information searches, to living in the real world again. The Internet had such promise in the beginning and now I think it needs to be regulated so that it doesn’t inspire people to harm one another just because we can. I enjoy making digital art from paintings and photographs I made in the 90's and more recently and reading writing from people like yourself but I can do without internet applications and online....garbage. Have a beautiful day. Cynthia
