The Dying American Dollar: Why President Trump Shouldn’t Underestimate Canada
The metaphor of a “dying dollar” paints a vivid picture of what happens when a currency loses its value and trust. Much like a heart that can’t pump blood, a currency that fails to circulate—due to inflation, poor management, or waning global confidence—puts the entire economic system at risk. When this happens, stagnation sets in, economies collapse, and a nation’s influence diminishes.
Right now, the American dollar is facing serious challenges. Under President Trump’s leadership, its value and stability are weakening. If this continues, the consequences will be dire—not just for the U.S., but for global markets. Canada, however, won’t sit idly by. If we’re dragged into this economic turmoil, we won’t slow the dollar’s decline; we’ll protect our interests and come out stronger.
While I’ve worked to remain cooperative with President Trump—more than most Canadian leaders, I’d say—kindness should not be mistaken for weakness. If harm comes to Canada, we will ensure that reparations are made. We will win because we are prepared to defend ourselves and our values.
Still, it’s clear that the U.S. needs allies right now. As the American dollar falters, it’s better for the U.S. to accept Canada’s support rather than try to battle us in the midst of their challenges.
And on a lighter note, today is Flag Day in Canada. President Trump didn’t send his regards—no surprise. No Valentine’s card either for me. But don’t worry, my heart is still strong. His, however, seems under significant stress. The burden of being loved only for wealth or power weighs heavily, often leading to anger and policies that hurt rather than heal.
That’s why I focus on peace, not conflict. When I say “Peace, Salaam, and Shalom,” it’s more than just a gesture—it’s a reminder of how language can unite us in shared values. Each word carries its own essence, reflecting the diversity of peace itself.
At the end of the day, the fight for justice, equity, and harmony is one we can’t ignore. Fear and anger are destructive forces, but strength and kindness will always prevail. Canada leads with love.
Happy Flag Day President Trump! Hope you find it in your heart to wish me the same next year, Canada is not going anywhere.
