D.W.Y.S.Y.A.G.T.D.

Do what you say you are going to do.

Repost from my Instagram (@jaredbeaumontwilliams) a month or so ago.

I have the awesome Philip Malamatinas to thank for this gem.

I love it. It is so brutally simple and it demands ownership.

I have witnessed both sides of D.W.Y.S.Y.A.G.T.D. in the last 24hrs.

I have been frustratingly let down on multiple fronts and have found myself, through gritted teeth, asking why the people involved haven’t done their job.

But I have also tried (that is underselling it - I have fought fucking hard) to ensure that I have delivered on what is expected from me. After a shit day yesterday, I sat down last night and addressed every issue, decided upon a solution and “put my Positives Pants on” when I got out of bed this morning.

On side note, the amazing thing about my Positive Pants (yours will be the same) is that they always fit, they can be worn whatever the weather and they always make you look good.

I often wear my heart on my sleeve - this can be a shit characteristic but I try to be as self-aware as possible. Knowing I had a shit day yesterday, I woke up determined to deliver.

I had a client meeting this morning and I made sure I had time before the meeting to ensure that my head was in the right place.

“Why should my shit day impact someone else’s business?”

“What had I promised I would do?”

Thinking about things in this “brutally simple” way and taking complete ownership allowed me to turn up with massive focus and deliver.

Deliver on what I had promised and deliver what the client expected.
