The past is a state of mind, really.?You look back at the road that got you here, and you decide what you want to bring along with you into today.?It's easy to get stuck in stories from the past, and to get bogged down in things that didn't work.?Drop that part of the story.?If you never flopped at something, you never did anything, so start with that.?You have gained experience!?
"Good decisions come from experience. And experience comes from making bad decisions."?It's an old saying and it still works.?
The other part of the past is the things that did work.?The ties you had that made you happy.?It's been shown that thinking about a time when you were in a high state of happiness will boost your creative power and give you fresh insights.?Each day brings a new way of looking at the days that went before.
Dwelling on the past, or dwelling IN the past, is a sure way to defeat that same process.?Your memory is very powerful.?It takes you right to that place in your mind, and you are standing in that same room once again. Think of the things that lit you up.?The people you have loved, those who have loved you. the projects you created that worked out.?All of that is in the past, too, and yet you can bring it into the future, when you use your memory in a positive way.
