Ingold wrote in The Temporality of the Landscape (1993: 167) that ‘movement is embodied, on the side of the people, in their “muscular consciousnessâ€, and on the side of the landscape, in its network of paths and tracks’.
Ingold was writing in connection to physical landscapes, however, on the subject of embodiment, writing a PhD certainly leaves a network of knots and tensions in its wake. I received some nice feedback about my proofreading in the last week. It's nice to know when my work makes the transition process from PhD researcher to doctor that little bit easier.
I would recommend Emma, who did a really good job, and I really appreciate her assistance. I have recommended her to my Chinese friends and other PhD colleagues as well. I am sure I will definitely find her again for proofreading because I will work in a research centre in the future.
