DWAND-THE TUSSLE OF CONVICTIONS

Karwaan-the public speaking club of IMNU has been organizing the vivid public speaking event since its inception in 2018. Dwand is the predominant event of Karwaan-the public speaking club of IMNU since 2018. It marks the beginning of the events for the club Karwaan. As the name explains itself, Dwand means an arrangement in which 2 people or 2 teams in a round, fairly competitive, are watched as vying for the sole position of winner.

As organised by Karwaan, Dwand is the debate competition. It is genre of public speaking in which one is required to collect the information, scrutinize the same and establish the position in a subtle way. Each team consists of 3 members. The extremes of the situations are allotted to both the teams through a draw. The teams are required to present the introduction for their respective allotted topics for 3 minutes. After giving the fair introduction, the session of cross questioning begins for 6 minutes. The team members put their notions on the table and debate the convictions of the contrary team members. After the debate, the teams are asked to conclude their parts. In order to not let any surface of information uncovered, the extremely perspicacious judges ask questions to the team and share their canny outlook to the situation.

Dwand not only holds the interest of the participants and judges throughout the debate but also holds the interest of the audience. It is natural human tendency that one picks the side of battle according to one’s predilections and priorities. Even if one is not the part of debate, one’s mind is constantly engage in scrutinizing the facts and opinions adorned by participants on the platform. One’s mind accept those ideas which settles best with one’s current situation, future preferences, past references and priorities, and rejects the other. Therefore, Dwand is not just the battle which takes place among the teams, but it is also a battle which a person experience in his witty minds.

Fortunately, for the participants who yearns for more competitions where they can question judgements and broaden their perspective, judges whose proclivity lies in these arenas and audience who are motivated to vocalize their cogitation, will soon find their ways towards their inclinations through Karwaan’s next most awaited events. This time be exhilarated and intuitive to grab the opportunity as soon as it arises because life is too short to squander the opportunities due to procrastination and dreads of public speaking because for Karwaan-The public speaking club of IMNU, your opinions matter.
