A coalition of stakeholders including Github, Huggingface, and Eleuther AI has published?a?policy paper?outlining suggestions to enhance the AI Act's protection of open-source innovation. Among the suggestions is a tiered approach that provides baseline regulations for all foundation models, but further regulation for those that are being used for commercial purposes.?
Do you believe that the proposed European AI Act should be amended to better accommodate open-source innovation and collaboration?

The Imminent Enshittification of the Internet?by?Gary Marcus?provides a variety of examples of false information being created by the LLM revolution. He also points out the irony that Google may have created its own demise, in that researchers there?invented the?transformer which?enabled the?LLMs which?are now creating so much garbage content that could tank?Google's search effectiveness. There is some nuance to both which are definitely worth a read, but suffice it to say the Iterative team is focused on eliminating cruft and creating quality software. ????
