National Growth Fund grants €2.9 bln to hightech sectors
Boosting their R&D in renewable energy (batteries, hydrogen), photonics, laser communication, lab-on-chip manufacturing, energy-efficient chips, lightweight composite materials and robotics for agricultural applications.
€ 230 mln grant to the local semiconductor industry
Projects entail radar and 6G tech (both spearheaded by NXP), semiconductor manufacturing equipment (ASML and Nearfield Instruments), semiconductor testing (Thermo Fisher) and integrated photonics (Smart Photonics).
DSM announces sale of Protective Materials business
Royal DSM, a global purpose-led science-based company, has reached an agreement to sell its Protective Materials business to Avient Corporation for an Enterprise Value of €1.44 billion.
Dutch trucks transported a record of weight in 2021
They transported 702 million tons of goods, 2.6 percent more than in 2020. Only in 2007 did the transported weight also exceed 700 million tons.
Considerable expansion of the High Tech Campus
About 100k square meters of business space will be added. The Singaporean government fund GIC will earmark €350 to 400 million through the American asset manager Oaktree for the expansion of the site.
