Dusting Off My Data Hat and Getting Back in the Game

Let’s be honest—I never left data science. But somewhere along the way, I got a little… sidetracked. You know how it goes (probably not): you move to Okinawa, take on a job as a data professional (which sounds perfect), and before you know it, you’re juggling roles I guess you could say I became a “jack of all trades, master of none (except burnout).”

Yep, that’s right—I got burned out. But here’s the kicker: I’m not blaming anyone but myself. It wasn’t the workload, the bosses, or even the meetings. No, the buck stops with me. I’m the one who lost sight of what brought me joy in the first place—data.

Now, before you think I’m going all “woe is me,” this isn’t some tearful confessional. Far from it. In fact, I’ve never been more excited to dive back into the world of data. Why? Because I realized something important: I missed the thrill of working with data—the insights, the patterns, the occasional “ah-ha!” moments when things just click.
