During the most thoughtful, progressive, and utterly penetrating times singular ideas frequently bring about change for the better.

I have just read a sparkling article in The Jerusalem Post that has vivified my trust in the leaders in education here in Israel. Sometimes a step back to review recent behavior, attempts to proceed in the fog of failures, and outright being stymied in attempts to do what is right open up new avenues of thought. As a member of ETAI (English Teachers' Association of Israel) for many years, I have read deeply insightful articles and some of the most innovative critical thinking that I can recall in all of my focused readings on education. Still, a major common denominator appeared to be missing, or peradventure, intentionally omitted for reasons to this day I cannot fathom. The feeling I have had for years has been that the educational standards in the mainstream national system have been lacking due to the ostensible driving force of the educational system, the teachers not be used, treated, and trained to the highest professional standards. Here is the URL for this intelligent article: <www.jpost.com/Israel-News/Saving-Israels-schools-from-themselves-503072>.
