Summary:?

• My work is focused on emergency supplies, largely for epidemic prevention.
• DuPont takes safety and comfort into consideration while making PPE overalls.

Challenges:?

I am the officer-in-charge of emergency supplies, and the last 2 years have been particularly challenging. While handling the epidemic prevention supplies, I coordinated with other stakeholders to provide protective equipment for CDCs across China. Our customers work in laboratories, performing hazardous tasks such as nucleic acid testing while wearing PPE all through the year… It gets highly uncomfortable in the hot summer months and often leads to inefficiency.

Solution:?

I was very surprised and grateful to be introduced to DuPont's personal protective equipment (PPE) through my customers. I remember being amazed during my first interaction with DuPont products! Not only do they offer ultimate protection in unsafe situations, but they also provide comfort in hot and humid climates. Being highly impressed, we started purchasing DuPont? Tyvek? medical coveralls from 2014 onwards, much to the benefit of our customers.

Unfortunately in 2020, due to the global scenario, the supply of DuPont protective clothing was quite constricted and there was not much inventory remaining… Left without options, we helplessly provided customers with some domestically produced protective clothing. As expected, our customers, many of who were medical workers are front-line fighters during the pandemic, were highly unpleased to use an inferior quality product that compromised wearer comfort.?

Our customers choose DuPont – firstly, for better protection and secondly, for comfort – better breathability, especially in hot and humid summer months. As compared to local competitors, DuPont takes safety and comfort into consideration while making overalls. Presently, domestic brands are unable to achieve this mix of protection and comfort.
