On 16th February 2021, Sheralee HEARY of Oak Road, Crays Hill, Billericay, Essex, appeared at Southend Magistrates Court , charged with selling counterfeit goods and possessing counterfeit goods for sale, contrary to Section 92 of The Trademarks Act 1994. She pleaded guilty to all matters. She was sentenced to a fine of ￡200.00 and ordered to pay ￡200.00 towards the prosecution costs and a ￡32.00 victims surcharge.
The case was brought by TM Eye as a private criminal prosecution on behalf of its client HUGO BOSS.
HEARY sold fake goods at a large stall in Dunton car boot sale, Essex.
TM Eye detectives carried out 3 covertly filmed test purchases of fake Hugo Boss goods from HEARY at the market on 26 08 2020, 27 08 2020 and 03 09 2020. This evidence resulted int the prosecution and conviction.
HEARY will now be required to have her fingerprints, photograph and DNA taken for police indices.
