Total knee arthroplasty can lead to postoperative pain, causing concerns for patients. Recent randomized controlled trials have examined the effectiveness of duloxetine in managing pain in these patients. However, the efficacy and safety of duloxetine are still uncertain. In this study, researchers searched for relevant randomized controlled trials and identified six high-quality studies involving 532 patients. The results indicate that patients in the duloxetine group experienced better outcomes in terms of visual analog scale scores, morphine consumption, and length of hospital stay compared to the control group. Based on these findings, duloxetine can be considered as a potential option for reducing pain after knee arthroplasty in specific patients.
