When you open the Accounts Receivable or Accounts Payable modules, in the parameters you can setup a lot of settings. I can't describe all the parameters in one article, so for now I choose two parameters that can help to manage the customer and vendor transactions:
Show due date and allow edit
When you want to see the financial postings on a vendor or a customer, you can open the vendor or customer transactions:
On each transaction there is a due date, but this due date isn't visible in the form directly.
If you want to add this due date into the transactions pages, you can enable the parameter for it. This parameter can be found in the parameters of module Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable on the tab 'Settlement':
When enabling this parameter, you will be informed that the transactions will be updated with this information. This can take some time, so you can decide if you want to do this immediately or by example schedule this task in batch for the evening.
When this task is finished and you open the transactions page again, a new column 'Due date' is added. For each transaction the due date is presented now:
The 'Edit' button is not available in the transactions page, but when you click on a due date of a specific transaction a pop-up will open. By example I click on the due date of voucher 'APIN000024':

A pop up will open now. In this form I can change the 'Cash discount date' or the 'Due date'. I change the due date from 7-7-2021 into 27-12-2022:
After the change I close the form. Now the due date of the transaction is updated:
Default filter for vendor / customer transactions:
In the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable parameters you can select the default filter value for the transactions that needs to be shown by standard when you open the vendor or customer transactions form:
By example you can put this value to 'Open' so that the vendor / customer transactions page will always start with only open transactions when opening the form:
You can always change the filter to manage the transactions you see in the form. But in the parameters you can enter the default value that must be used when opening the form.

5 个月Thank you for sharing this topic, but I have a question how to customize due date for invoice? means how to make due date follow a specific calendar not session date, I found payment calendar screen in payment setup in both AP and AR but Unfortunately, I couldn't find out how to use it in invoicing. Do you have any way to figure it out?

2 年Hello, I have a doubt about due date amended in vendor transaction. We know that there is a relation 1:N with vendor open transaction and here we could split an open transaction in more lines in order to have more due dates or amounts, according to a schedule schema or not. So, if the due date is amended in vendor transaction, what is the effect on vendor open transaction? In addition, if the due date is changed in vendor transaction according to a payment schedule, how that is showed in vendor transaction? Because the due dates used in payment proposal or in other report is based on vendor open transaction, it is? not clear for me what are the cons to use this feature. Many thanks in advance?

2 年Hi Hylke Britstra, thanks for the nice post...I have a query, do you know why due date visibility is controlled by parameter, not by default... is it due to performance ?
