Varshul Gupta and Anuja Dhawan founded Dubverse, co-founders of Co-founded AI-based dubbing platform to allow creators to dub videos in up to 30 languages in real-time. It started with an educational mindset and now caters to any visual creator who wants to dub a video in the language of their choice. Dubbing has been associated with movies, and movie studios have relied on dubbing to release their films in other widely-spoken languages. The company uses a combination of humans and artificial intelligence to create digital voices that sound like real people. Despite the use of AI-powered voice-over software for dubbing a voice, Dhawan says the role of humans is critical because the software is trained using a real person.?

2. As AI booms, EU lawmakers wrangle over new rules

The European Commission proposed draft rules to protect citizens from the dangers of AI but resulted in no resolution, and lawmakers are at loggerheads over various facets of the Act. The industry expects an agreement by the end of the year. Still, there are concerns that the complexity and lack of progress could delay the legislation to next year, and European elections could see MEPs with different priorities take office. MEPs have proposed an Act to classify AI tools according to their perceived risk level. However, this needs to be more room for addressing aggressively expanding generative AI technologies like ChatGPT and Stable Diffusion. Companies have pushed back against such moves, ensuring their guidelines are robust enough to deploy the technology safely. MEPs are under pressure to deliver something substantial before the European elections in 2024.

Bill Gates believes AI can reduce some of the world's worst inequities, such as health inequity, education inequity, and climate injustice. He thinks the world's poorest and those who contributed least to the problem of climate change are the worst sufferers. Gates suggested ways AI can help empower people at work, save lives, and improve education, such as GPT's ability to express ideas, personal agents like a digital assistant, and AI-driven software. He also talked about the risks of AI and its limitations, such as its potential to be used for good purposes or malign ones. Governments need to work with the private sector to limit the risks.
