Dubai has long been recognized as a city of opportunity, not just in terms of business and tourism but also in the realm of education. With its growing and diverse educational system, the city is a hub for both local and international students. Dubai offers a variety of schools and colleges that provide top-notch education.
Currently, there are over 223 private schools in Dubai which cater to more than 365,000 students. These schools offer 17 different curricula including British, Indian, American and International Baccalaureate programs. This range ensures that students can find an education that fits their future goals.
This academic year will see the opening of six new private schools adding even more options for families. Dubai has 285 early childhood centres with 29 more set to open including the first centre offering a Chinese curriculum. These new centres will provide nearly 3,000 additional spots for young learners meeting the increasing demand for quality early education.
Dubai's higher education sector is also booming with 38 licensed institutions offering over 650 programs to nearly 35,000 students. This year, four new higher education institutions will open including the first Chinese university in Dubai. These additions will further cement Dubai's reputation as a global education hub.
Aisha Miran, Director General of KHDA, highlighted Dubai’s commitment to growing its education sector while upholding high standards. Over the past two years, there has been a 16% rise in early childhood centres, a 12% increase in school and higher education enrolments and a 25% surge in international students. Miran also emphasized KHDA’s support for the Dubai Social Agenda and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 which includes the launch of 39 new educational institutions across the city.
