Dubai real estate: DLD settles over AED1.38bn in property disputes in first half of 2024

The settlements were processed through the Oqoodi Platform service, the Dubai Media Office revealed on Sunday. The Dubai Land Department (DLD) has resolved 647 real estate disputes valued at over AED1.38 billion in the first half of 2024, according to a statement by the Dubai Media Office (DMO).

The settlements were processed through the Oqoodi Platform service, which approved all agreements.

The DLD’s initiative aims to manage property disagreements without court involvement, using legal specialists to oversee negotiations between parties. This approach is designed to preserve business relationships and reduce costs associated with judicial proceedings.

“This approach is an effective mean of resolving disputes swiftly and efficiently, achieving investor satisfaction and happiness. These settlements enable parties to proceed with their investments, ensuring that real estate projects continue without delays and effectively support multiple industries linked to construction,” Abdullah Al Zarooni, Legal Support Section Manager at DLD said.

The department’s conflict resolution service focuses on reaching mutually agreeable solutions for investors and developers. By documenting these settlements, the DLD seeks to ensure compliance and boost confidence in Dubai’s real estate sector.
