Dubai Opera Unveils 2023-2024 Calendar Including MAC Global's Tubular Bells 50th Anniversary Concert

On Thursday 7 September, during a press conference at the venue, Dubai Opera unveiled its highly anticipated calendar of events for the upcoming season 2023-2024.
Dr. Paolo Petrocelli, Head of Dubai Opera, took centre stage to provide his overview. Among the highlights was the announcement of “Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells Live” produced in collaboration with Sony Music Entertainment companies, MAC Global and Senbla.
‘Tubular Bells’, the debut studio album by British musician Mike Oldfield, was released on 25 May 1973, as the first album on Virgin Records. It consists of two primarily instrumental tracks, with nearly all instruments played by the 19-year old, Oldfield.
'Tubular Bells' achieved worldwide recognition when its opening theme was featured in the soundtrack of the iconic horror film, 'The Exorcist'. The album went on to sell more than 2.7 million copies in the UK and an estimated 15 million copies worldwide.

The 50th anniversary celebratory concert promises to be an extraordinary experience for music enthusiasts. The live performance will feature the complete rendition of 'Tubular Bells', along with other memorable Oldfield compositions.
At the Dubai Opera press conference, the MAC Global team had the pleasure of listening to speeches from the Director of the UNESCO Regional Office in Doha, Salah Eldin Zaki; CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), Ahmed Al Khaja, and Dr. Saeed Mubarak bin Kharbash, CEO of the Arts and Literature Sector at Dubai Culture.
Mr Zaki's playful remark about 'Tubular Bells' making him "feel old" added a touch of humour to the proceedings.
Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells 50th anniversary concert takes place at Dubai Opera on 12 January 2024.
