Dubai Launches Drone Deliveries for Medicines and Parcels

Dubai has officially begun drone deliveries, with the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) granting its first license to Keeta Drone. The initiative launched at Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) with six drones serving four routes, including key locations like Rochester Institute of Technology, Dubai (RIT Dubai) -Dubai and Dubai Digital Park.

HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum placed the first order using the new system, emphasizing Dubai’s commitment to smart mobility and advanced technology under its Economic Agenda D33. Keeta Drone, a subsidiary of China's Meituan, plans to expand operations citywide by 2030.

The drones aim to enhance efficiency and reliability, particularly in extreme weather, while supporting medical and emergency deliveries. Since 2017, Keeta Drone has completed over 400,000 deliveries in China and now looks to transform Dubai’s logistics landscape.
