This is a great example of the art (and yes, art does apply to machines) of beautiful, simple, good engineering & design applied to a product. This clinch Gizmo is made with high-wear carbide cutting surfaces, for shearing that nasty Kovar alloy on DIP leads and bending them outward to be more mechanically secure attachment before the DIP is soldered to a circuit board. The cutting blades are powered by an air cylinder with an attached cam and slide arrangement. Simple, beautiful, functional.....nice!
