DTY = DRAW TEXTURED YARN

This is a process through which Draw Textured Yarn is produced.

Another short form of this process is DTEX

It comprises of two processes :

DRAWING + TEXTURISING


TYPICAL PROPERTIES OF POLYESTER POY :

Tenacity = 2.5 GPD

Elongation = 130%

Boiling Water Shrinkage = 60%

Moisture Regain = 0.4%

These are not suitable for making a fabric out of it

So, we need to subject this POY to two processes :

DRAWING & TEXTURISING
