DSLLC: 2023 Year in Review

DSLLC: 2023 Year in Review

What? So What? Now What? As a peek behind the entrepreneurial curtain, I’ve organized this post with one of my favorite insights-driven frameworks. Welcome to the 2023 Year in Review for Doyne Services, LLC!

WHAT?

I’ll start with key metrics. In a deviation from my typical corporate process, I’m integrating personal health results. For me, this “unified” approach is my choice as a solo-preneur. With that said, here is how I’m measuring success this year:

  • ?? 523 sessions with 349 individuals over 401 hours??
  • ?? 105 exercise workouts for a total of 1,069 miles over 78 total hours (Source: Runkeeper (ASICS Digital) )
  • ??182 meditation sessions over 51 hours (Source: Balance app, Elevate Labs ) - most of this while walking Baxter ??

Along the way, here are some of the business highlights I accomplished in 2023:

?? Coaching Question to Consider: Will you achieve your professional goals in spite of your health, or because of your health?

SO WHAT?

This section is about insights. Based on the quantifiable statistics gathered and qualitative survey results, what did I learn?

??INSIGHT #1: Success is defined by the client

  • As a precedent, I believe the path to success for clients begins by asking for help; in response, success for me is showing up in a way that makes a positive impact.
  • Many of my clients are looking for specific outcomes —> Specifically, I’m privileged to say that I've helped numerous people land FT Roles & Contract Positions. I’ve also partnered with many to improve their resumes, LinkedIn profiles, interview performance and networking skills.
  • Other clients have different objectives on which we’ve made progress such as Career Clarity, Professional Development and Time Management.

I would never take full credit for these advancements, but it still felt great every time my clients shared good news. ????

?? INSIGHT #2: Learning impacts ego

  • This is a double edged sword. The good news is that learning increases skills. Some lessons I’ve learned through formal education and training. Others — the hard way, through challenging situations, new experiences and surprises around every corner. This vocation is new for me and while I believe I am inclined and improving, there will always be more to learn.

?? INSIGHT #3: Customer diversity requires intentionality

I’m going to be extra transparent on this one because I think it’s important. Even reflecting on my days as a corporate executive, it was more likely for white males to schedule 1:1 time with me. It’s a past lesson learned, applied and honed that I’m attempting to bring to bear as a Coach. Inclusion is an action. It requires effort and intention. By nurturing my broad network and establishing new pathways, I can strive to be an equal opportunity resource.

?? INSIGHT #4: Content generation has been a joy

This goes back to my very early career instincts. I have always loved to document and reflect via writing and photography. During college, I transitioned that love into sports video production and then leveraged my storytelling skills into PowerPoints and staff meeting presentations at the office.

  • Over the last year, I journaled my ass off. Some of the results you’ve seen on LinkedIn where it has been surreal to see your engagement with my experiences. I’m grateful to see my output have an inspirational impact in any way. I will keep posting as long as I enjoy it, so here we are.

?? Coaching Question to Consider: What data should you capture to develop the most relevant insights for your life and/or business?

NOW WHAT?

So you’ve captured some data, you’ve generated your insights. What actions will you take to improve your performance?

I have to admit… I debated about how transparent I want to be with my business strategy and goals. For my own sanity, I’m going to keep the strategy to myself, but will share my topline goals here:

  1. Engineer Growth: Develop B2C and B2B tactics to impact KPIs
  2. Take Risks: Go out on a limb, that’s where the fruit is
  3. Improve Efficiency to Maximize Potential
  4. Continue to Prioritize Professional and Personal Development

I like to create base and stretch goals that provoke activity outside of organic growth. If all I did was mirror momentum, the process doesn’t maximize incremental value.

I have also fleshed out each of the areas above as detailed SMART Goals. In case you aren’t familiar, here’s the framework: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Timebound.

?? Coaching Question to Consider: How will insights inform your strategy and goals?

I’m open to follow up questions and ideas, but this really isn’t about me. My focus will always be on my clients.

--> Can I support you in defining and achieving your 2024 Goals?

?? My January calendar is now open for a limited number of free intro sessions: https://calendly.com/doyne/1-1-coaching-intro-session?month=2024-01

Many thanks to my family, friends, clients and advisors who have supported me all year. You know who you are. ?? See you next year!
