D/s - a philosophical view

For the general public, this brings up sexual imagery, submission to whatever a "master" wants. But that isn't what the relationship is about - and in many cases a small part. What it is really about is trust. Without trust, there can't truly be a D/s relationship.

And where does the trust of an s come from? It comes from a history of the D desiring the very best for the s. The perception of many is that the relationship is predicated on the D getting their needs met by the the s but that is a byproduct. The s is motivated to meet those desires because the D is doing all in their power to ensure the s safe, secure, and where they need to be in their life. In this, the D empowers the s for success in whatever areas they are pouring into and the s offers themselves to their D knowing there is no better place to be.
