For us at HP indigo, the hard work at Drupa 2016 is about to be replaced with the joyful work of installing the truly amazing number of presses that were ordered during the show. Plans are being made and project timelines are being set to meet the demand.
Our customers will use this new fleet of presses to advance their business, to transform from analogue to digital, to find new ways to enable THEIR customers have a better one-on-one conversation with their end-users.
The diversity, flexibility and new range of applications possible on the indigo presses will serve them well.
While still at the airport I started to think of all the NEW stuff my team and I are planning to bring for Drupa 2020. The conversations we had during Drupa with our customers and prospects were very meaningful. It allowed them to better voice their needs. And for us to listen.
The surprising part is that in a quick analysis it looks like the realization of many of these needs is within our reach. So I am very excited. I look forward to an enjoyable set of projects that will form the next wave of innovation at HP indigo.
Yes, in some cases it will be more challenging than in others. R&D projects are always like that. But I know we have a great team. A team that is truly interested in helping our current and future customers prosper. This team shaped Drupa2016 and I am sure it will do so again on Drupa 2020. Most of the team members are on their way home or will be about to in the next few days.
As for myself, it was 4am when I finally arrived home and 6am when my youngest son woke up and gave me a long, longer than usual, hug. It was good to have a one-on-one conversation with my wife and kids and catch up on things.
In the next few days I will enjoy some well-deserved time off with family and friends. I look forward to that too. After all they are the most important project of my life.
Yours. Truly.
