Drumroll please…..!

Lifestyle Tradie Members Corey and Naomi Stevens from AC Plumbing QLD have won the 2021 BUSSQ Service Excellence Award! This award is presented by the Master Plumbers Association of Queensland annually and is a massive achievement in the plumbing industry.

Angela and I want to extend our biggest congratulations to Corey and Naomi! Given the trials and tribulations we all faced over the last few years, it’s so heartwarming for us to see our members thriving and recognised for their hard work.

Not to mention Corey himself also won Businessperson of the year — what a legend!

If you’re not familiar with the award, it rewards “plumbing businesses that have achieved outstanding results through initiatives that demonstrate commitment to service excellence.” The award spans both residential and commercial so the competition to receive the prize is steep.

We are so proud of Naomi and Corey for winning this prestigious award. We’ve watched their business grow and thrive since joining Lifestyle Tradie, and have loved watching their journey in reaching business success.

We interviewed the pair back in 2016 for our Lifestyle Tradie Magazine to ask what their business goals in five years would be. Their response was, “To have the business systemised to the point that we can take extended holidays without having to worry about the business.”

Just shy of five years later Corey and Naomi achieved this — smashing their goal and taking a holiday. Even cutting Corey’s hours down to a 40 hour week and spending more time as a family.

Their top 3 tips for navigating business to get to this position?

1. The importance of planning!

“Before Lifestyle Tradie we were running the business with no real plan, taking every day as it would come. These days we know exactly where we need and want to be each day to achieve our goals.”

2. Setting goals!

“A little similar to the above, but knowing where you want to be in 2, 5, 7 years has had a huge impact on the business as well as our personal lives.”

3. Knowing your numbers!

“By knowing the business numbers we are able to make smart informed decisions when making plans and setting goals. We are no longer running in the dark… a huge sense of relief. It’s a great feeling!”
