Not long before he became the conference's?very first keynote presenter?in 2016,?Michael had captured the imaginations of construction, design, and wood products communities around the world with his now famous TED Talk?—?“Why We Should Build Wooden Skyscrapers.”?

Seven years later, Michael returns to the conference to take us to new heights where adventure and big ideas intertwine to spark imaginations yet again. In addition to being an internationally-renowned mass timber architect, Michael is a world-class athlete,?avid traveler, and adventurer, who has explored remote regions of every continent.?When we talked with him the other day, he had just returned from a place on Earth few have dared set foot... and survived to tell the tale.??
