Drum Decanting Unit (DDU) represents a mechanized and automated solution for introducing small-volume additives into blends. These units come equipped with conveyor belts, load cells, control systems, rinse tanks, and swivel lances. What sets LINUS PROJECTS (INDIA) apart is its distinctive design, enabling the transfer of even the most viscous additives. Through the automation of dosing, rinsing, and transfers, our Drum Decanting Units contribute to heightened efficiency and safety. The DDU is meticulously engineered for pumping and precisely dosing highly viscous liquids from drums, seamlessly integrating them into formulation processes. This technology is particularly recommended for scenarios demanding the utmost accuracy in dosing and repeatability.
LINUS PROJECTS (I) Drum Decanting Unit can be used for emptying a defined value of additives without any cross contamination into the production process of lubricants. The product has various operational features such as decanting operation, Rinsing operation, drum tilting, heating, etc.
The high-performance DDU brings the expensive additive into the production process without neither product loss, waste oil onset, and high-precision dosing by weighing technology. The unit is easy to handle, satisfies the highest safety standards, and runs in clean and completely closed conditions.
PROCESS:
In a standard Drum Decanting Unit (DDU) setup, roller conveyors are utilized for singularly loading and unloading drums or totes onto the drum-weighing platform. The designated drum is sequentially chosen and placed onto the platform by the operator.
The weighing platform is affixed to compression load cells, accurately gauging the quantity of each substance. To ensure optimal retrieval and extraction of the product, a tilting mechanism is integrated. Furthermore, a suction lance and swivel arm are introduced into the drum to extract the liquid contents.
Production initiation is executed through the employment of the Supervisory Control System. This system not only retrieves and verifies the specified component recipe but also aligns the required processes for a seamless workflow.

The controller guarantees the uninterrupted introduction of the precise recipe quantity of each component via the lance. Once the designated material quantity has been drawn from each drum, the lance is taken out, cleansed within a rinse tube, and prepared for the subsequent drum in line. To facilitate thorough product retrieval and minimize wastage or cross-contamination, a rinse tank, complete with a heating system, is incorporated. This tank purges the lance, effectively eliminating any remaining residue. Furthermore, every empty drum undergoes a rinsing process with a low viscosity component, minimizing any residual material left in the drum or tote.
APPLICATIONS:
Attaining accurate and efficient component extraction from totes and drums is vital for reliable performance in diverse industrial contexts, including:
? Blending of Chemicals, Specialty Chemicals, and Additives
? Mixing and Processing in the Food and Beverage Industry
? Lubricant and Grease Formulation and Blending
