Drug, Depression, Death: Bollywood
A Pathetic Education System, Lack of Proper Parenting, Toxic Working Environment, Cut Throat Competition and a Codependent Work Culture of PR, Media, Talent House, Production Houses, Political Clout, Drug Mafia and Underworld Control on Bollywood has truly shown the actual functioning of Hindi Cinema Industry as a whole.
It’s an Industry run by bunch of crabs holding back anyone trying to excel or endeavor beyond its mediocre content which only tries to sell subliminal propaganda agenda while copying every bit of their content from Foreign to Regional Content they could get their hands through recreated, re-shot and repackaged Rs. 100 Crore Budget Movie.
Even then since they are assured that the content has no calibre to outperform so majority of the Rs. 100 Crore Budget goes into publicity and PR activities around the movie for which Actors are even willing to stand like a mute mannequin at some Anti National College or dance at a Dance Show or enter in Comedy Shows to promote their Movie.
While I truly appreciate and support the cause of CM Shri Yogi Adityanath of making a Film City in Noida near Delhi which is a proper and justified place for Hindi Content being made and created at Hindi Belt, but one must take learning and understanding of steps to be taken to ensure we do not end up witnessing another downfall of Hindi Cinema Industry as we see of Bollywood now 3 decades from now.
Firstly we need to realize that Future is Media & Communication as more and more Indians reach out for their smartphones in their pockets to get instant access to news, content, information, entertainment, education and sports. Thus we can't just have 2 Film & Media Government Colleges i.e. FTII, Pune & SRFTI, Kolkata rather we need to have 20+ if we have 20+ IITs & IIMs, Why not have 20+ Film & Media Colleges across States to support and strengthen Regional and Hindi Content.
Next we need to bring in Stories from India that promote Nation Building, strengthen and support collective thinking that identifies with each other. There was a time when we had a separation of Commercial Movies which were made specifically to entertain while there was a Parallel cinema which raised social issues but didn't outright attack Society in general. It seems our current Bollywood has taken up the job of putting their own misconstrued interpretation of anything which they put up as a diarrhea and expect the audience to lap it up just because the content is supported by some Biggie Actor or Actress.
A genuine attempt to redo the present and have well identified segregation of commercial and parallel cinema would be essential to have entertainment quotient in our hindi cinema content while also having a place for filmmakers to raise their voice and pick a social cause.
On which genuine and efficient PR campaign is done like a very professional, elegant and graceful attempt could have been made towards awareness on Acid Attack but the whole subject got badly and the whole opportunity is lost even in interviews we could see Deepika around the subject were not properly articulated.
Lastly beyond just Film City what steps are being taken to ensure healthy and better distribution channels as majority of Hindi Cinema Industry is in control of these Distributors and Cinema Theatre Owners who keep the right to even content as to who should or shouldn't be casted for better profitability of the content.
If we truly seek to be Atmanirbhar then every 6,50,000 Village must have a Cultural Hub Centre/Cinema Hall where they have the right to screen the content that they wish to showcase, while such a vision board would seem huge but thanks to digitization it could be attained if sincere steps are taken to cultivate, nurture and support local content, local talent, culture, dance, drama, heritage and history.
