DORA – the EU’s Digital Operational Resilience Act. It comes into force in January 2025 and impacts EVERY financial service firms operating in the EU.

But what is DORA? And what does it mean for your firm? Our newest guide aims to answer those questions and more. It covers:

  • The structure of DORA
  • Who is in- and out-of-scope for the purposes of DORA

  • Much more

Alongside the new guide, we've produce a short introductory video to DORA, starring our director Michael Beaton , which you can watch below:

That's not all we've been working on, though. That's right, we have TWO new pieces of guide content share with you!

Not only have we created a brand new guide to DORA, we've also updated our SFT guide.

Back in the Summer, ISDA published version 2.0 of its Securities Financing Transaction Definitions.?There were three broad modifications – all addressing specifics of Korean securities financing transactions.?We’ve updated our SFT guide with a comprehensive analysis of these changes.

You can request both guides at this link .

AIMA event

Speaking of DORA... that's exactly what our directors Michael Beaton , Rallie Shiderova and Paul Hands were doing at the recent AIMA - The Alternative Investment Management Association innovation day.

Thank you to AIMA for running such an engaging event covering topics such as AI, DORA, and quantum computing. We can't wait for the next event.

Ark 51

While we're talking about AI, we'd be remiss if we didn't mention our newest video covering our AI documentation engine that provides a home for your documents and playbooks, Ark 51.

Ark 51 turns legal prose into actionable information upon which informed risk and trading decisions can be based – reducing the overall cost of ownership of data and enhancing compliance, and you can learn more about it in the video below:

Great North Run

In September, a number of DRS staff took part in the 2024 Great North Run, raising money for The Children’s Heart Unit at the Freeman Hospital (CHUF). CHUF's mission is to make life better for children and young people who are born with or who develop heart conditions by providing lifelong support to them and their families.?

If you'd still like to donate, you can do that via Justgiving here .

National Innovation Centre for Data showcase

Our Chief Technology Officer Paul Hands recently spoke about bringing an AI product like Ark 51 to a market available product, and the lessons we learned along the way, at the National Innovation Centre for Data showcase.

ISDA Webinar

Paul will also be conducting a webinar alongside ISDA, exploring the ways in which artificial intelligence and the Common Domain Model can be used by technology providers and their clients to digitise documentation.

We'll discuss the current production-ready code and how it can be used to convert legacy documents into digitised clauses for onboarding and post-trade processing functionality.

You can register for the event here .

That's it for this issue of the newsletter. We'll have one more newsletter issue for you to read before the end of the year - see you then!
