all of us are chasing every day to get more money and power by working hard and compromising our health and mental level to get more happiness ,which we never get as we dot know what will make us truly happy. We are not able figure out what will lead to out ultimate happiness . we are in process of comparing our self with rest of people and do what rest of people are doing rather decide what we want .we see many team mate proclaiming how much less they are sleeping each day at home and work day and night to be ahead then other . one of reason for our 75% disease like heart/diabetes /fever which can be controlled by living a better controlled life . these can be avoided by changing our life style . Each one of us is different and each one of us have different need for happiness . we are just copying others to get happiness . .most of time we are busy in self gratification of ourself, hence would like to share or show how good/great we are to rest of people in office . our happiness is not link to money or power as economic power of american citizen have made them unhappy vs mynamar people are happiest where wealth is lowest.. people often criticize me for not replying immediately as i focus at time only one thing either people or mail. i know after my surgery how it is important to be healthy mentally and physically.
Biologically - we are wired to give back to society or people and that gives us lasting happiness . people who have given back to society whether it is Azim prem Ji/Bill gate each have found way to give back wealth achieved to society to feel happy . we all can give and attain happiness by giving back our knowledge/money/sharing it what we have . we can give to servant /train people who are working with us so that they become skilled /provide training to young kid /advise young guys to be healthy .we are social animal and more we talk with people in office or home more we feel happy .
sleep deprivation which is result of multitasking /replying mail immediately/looking whatsap instantly , where each one of us will be connected avg 10 group/sleeping with smartphone is destroying our life and productivity too on long term basis . we are not focus on present moment and unable to observe what is going on around us. Many of us young at 49/50 are having heart attack and leaving us /their kid for doing multitasking .
sleep deprivation is one of disease which will kill all of sooner then expected . one of reason for this is our changing habit to our attempting to do multi tasking and seeking happiness through money /power which is elusive one . there will be some one always richer and powerful then us . let us start giving back to needy one get our happiness.
Reasons for stress .
- our expense kept on rising vs increase in our income as new model for car will flooded in very qtr which will be better then present we have / new luxurious house and more expensive vacation will be available and dinner in best of hotel will option rather eating home cook food as other are going hotel then every one has to go . Facebook is full with people enjoying vacation abroad, where we feel we must go even if we do not enjoy those moment and eventually we will become bankrupt on these extra spend. we also want to put our photo on fb proclaiming to enjoy vacation not knowing some one will always be ahead then us and we will feel again distress. we are not saving for future then spending money on those activity to show that we are better then other. i use to travel in Govt buses in hyderabad which is much cheaper from office to home ( rs 10 ticket for 11 km)and on any sunday i will travel only govt bus. Each one of our employee use to question me and my immediate reply was " i m travelling a vehicle of 30 lakh and much safer then car" we can always find happiness they way we look at things .
- organization is full of leaders who are churning huge data hourly and business trend, which way business is going and updating every few minute/hours to whole employee base and forces every one to read their mail/sms/whatsup. On avg sales people will have 2 hours concall/200 mail/500 update on whats up and we have been added in every group in company, who want to send some crap info and push the information which each one is trying to sell . sales guy are left with one hour to sell vs 8 hours desired . there is so much information that front line is struggling to read and report back. he hardly have time to sell/interact with customers /people . If response is delayed of his mail then manager think that reportees are not responsive . i often visit mkt, where entire sales people is busy managing only data whole day hardly care about developing people /observing new trend/building up relationship. This multitasking is creating huge stress on people health and productivity.
- when senior people visit the mkt / you will find them busy reading mail/message on social media like whatsup/fb and replying mail. They hardly have any time to observe trend of competition and talk to team/customer/traders to develop/understand his team/business. Multi tasking is prevalent every where which is leading to stress.
- when there is big meeting of MD/DMD/Director and very intense discussion is going - all senior people are busy reading some unwanted mail/looking at update on sms /whats up . They want to reply mail /message instantly and be in the discussion forum too. each one comes with computer and mobile . each one is busy in multitasking leading to stress and not contributing in important discussion . we have memory of 126 terrabite and if it get divided among mail/discussion/social media then 26 terrabite memory on one thing - u hardly are involved and understanding subject at low memory. we will be best only we focus one thing at one time - we call it flow . best musician /scientist are always in flow .
- when i go for walk every day in morning - couple are sitting together - reading fb/whatsup message and laughing to them self rather talking to each other on park . how can relationship be strong . you will see 3 friend sitting on bench and all using mobile phone busy in social media rather talking . you will often see when friend are travelling in car - each one is busy in mobile phone rather talking to each other . we are social animal and de-stressing is possible through talking rather using fb.
- when our mobile discharge till 17%- we get paranoid and look for ways and mean to recharge . you will find big line on airport for recharge . we do multiple time recharge to phone and we do not have any time for us to recharge ourself by yoga/walk/meditation by which we earn money and power.
- each one of sleeping with one phone and when we woke up middle of night and we want to see first update on phone then go for bathroom leading to further deprivation of sleep. i use to travel weekly lucknow to hyderabad. every monday use to be worst day for me as i need to wake up 3am( less sleep) . when ever your kid have slept less - you will have disastrous day for mother and when kid sleeps more wonderful day for mother. when ever i have not slept - i feel more tired then i should normally.
way forward
- can we put all our devices out of our room ,when we sleep in the night . we can have mechanical clock for wake up call.
- The way we take care our mobile recharge - we should recharge our self by spending min 5 minute on meditation /yoga and walk . This is best life we got it from god - we need to figure out time to give to our body.
- we should not reply mail instantly - dedicate time for mail reading -we should do one job at a time to avoid stress hence 500 mail will take 1.5 hours to reply .
- when ever some one knock in our room - we should stop looking mail/mobile and talk to person.
- while working in mkt - we should avoid concall/whatsup/mail to give dedicate time at present work to get productivity
- well known CEO in USA in insurance sector who had neck surgery - got recovered through yoga/Meditation - ensure their 49k employees are given yoga /mediation training and Duke university did research to find out productivity benefit- 7% people were less sick and 69 minute productivity went up.
- well being and health are key indicator for our success . I have taken pledge to train most of my team member in yoga/meditation/walk to be healthy .
Many south indian go for temple and my muslim friend go for namaz is best thing for life. you will find worship place in each adityabirla unit and military unit to improve happiness of people.
- let us sleep more and avoid multi tasking
