DroneX Tradeshow & Conference opened its doors to 3,033 key professionals from across the sector who were all looking for the latest technology and trends to stay ahead of the game as well as rebuild their business connections in person! DroneX has pulled together a round-up of the incredible 2022 edition and highlighted the exciting features shaping the UAV industry.
This record-breaking year has exceeded expectations with the fantastic experiences and opportunities, exhibitors and visitors have had.
Exhibitor Lidar Lightware said, ‘It's been an amazing show, there's been a lot more traffic than we expected and we have spoken to some big names like Thales and Boeing. It's been a good show for us and it's been a good investment.’
Extreme Cases is a new exhibitor to the show, ‘First time we've ever done the show and its been very successful, with a steady string of visitors and what I have been especially pleased about is the quality of MD and CEO level so we've rebooked for next year!’
DroneX Tradeshow & Conference exceeded all expectations this year with key professionals from across the sector coming together once again to stay ahead of the latest technologies and trends which have revolutionised the industry.
A highlight of the lineup was a panel of experts sharing the advantages of Drone Deliveries in the health sector, ‘Drone Deliveries: For the Good of our Health'. Inmarsat's Anthony Spouncer led a panel of scientists, engineers, and designers from across airspace management, technology, healthcare, and operators to discuss how unlocking access to BVLOS flight could be good for our health. Starting off the expo this panel opened up the floor to discussion and sharing ideas which is everything DroneX is about.?
Discussing the future of drone usage was Andreas Perotti, Chief Marketing Officer from EHang with his talk on, ‘Advanced Air Mobility - The future of transport’. Advanced Air is the next big thing in the mobility revolution. Drone technologies and autonomous systems for cargo and passenger transport will change how we live, work and travel in the 21st century. Andreas’ talk was informative and essential to understanding the future of mobility.?

Updating the industry on the Drone Industry Action Group’s Ambition Statement from ARPAS-UK is CEO Graham Brown and Gordon Baker from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. This duo covered all updates and the work that is being carried out to achieve the potential in multiple industries. Including the current activities, developments and next steps in enabling technology, regulation, legislation and Government investment to achieve progress and business growth.
Speaking of the future, PwC Drones Lead, Craig Roberts ended the show with an in-depth report, ‘Skies Without Limits v2.0’, into the potential impact of drones on the UK economy to 2030. He covered drone impacts on GDP, cost savings and carbon emissions and discussed the barriers to unlocking the potential. The report was written in collaboration with BEIS and DfT and supports the Drone Ambition Statement and was a great industry focussed talk to end the 2022 event.?
Hosting their own Industry Awards, DroneX wanted to highlight the key innovative industry members this year. Their judges this year were the CEO of ARPAS-UK, Graham Brown, Philip Butterworth-Hayes from Unmanned Airspace, and Dominic Ferrett, a leading UAS Engineer from the Ministry of Defense. Each nominee displayed their product in front of the judges and attendees on the bustling expo floor. This year's winner was Phoenix Wings, a cargo drone manufacturer based in Germany.?
DroneX 2022 saw the debut of their VIP Breakfast, hosting key buyers who were able to network with like-minded professionals over a coffee and pastry before the show's opening. This kick-started the show with great conversation and room to share ideas between the innovators of the industry. The expo was then officially opened by the incredible headline partners, Air Ambulance and ARPAS UK.
With that in mind, next year’s show promises to be bigger and better than ever with some exciting new additions! DroneX will be bringing visitors its very own keynote theatre, live demo area, DroneX Connect and much more. The UK’s leading business event dedicated to the UAV sector has exceeded all expectations and the organisers want to take the opportunity to thank all of the exhibitors, keynotes, visitors and partners who supported DroneX 2022.? Plans are already underway for the 2023 edition on the 26th & 27th of September, for an even more comprehensive edition to bring the industry together once again and provide attendees with the trends, insights and conversations to keep driving the industry forward.
