Drone Cadets aims to bridge that gap by exposing everyone, starting as young as 8 years old.
The Story of Dane Sealy
We recently caught up with Dane Sealy, a summer intern who worked with Drone Cadets, to check in on how he was doing post-internship. Dane was one of the twenty interns selected to participate in the Drone Cadets internship program during the summer of 2022, which ran from July 3rd to August 15th.
This program, organized by the New York City Department of Education, aimed to provide students with the opportunity to learn about drone technology, gain experience in the industry, and determine if it was a good fit for their future career plans. Drone Cadets' mission is to promote drone stem technology to underserved communities worldwide and help close the diversity gap in the workforce.
We asked Dane a few questions about his background and aspirations.

What are your goals moving forward?
Dane's future goals include obtaining his Part 107 certification, graduating from college with high honors, and becoming an excellent teacher for Drone Cadets, where he currently works as an instructor. He wants to expose his students to STEM technology, such as drones, and help them realize that the sky is the limit.
What did you from being an intern with the Drone Cadets?
Dane shared that the most valuable lesson he learned during his internship with Drone Cadets was the importance of nurturing a child's growth and development. He realized that teaching children that they can achieve anything they set their minds to is essential. It was clear that the internship with Drone Cadets instilled in Dane a sense of purpose and a desire to give back to his community.
As our interview came to a close, we were inspired by Dane's dedication to his goals and his passion for others. Drone Cadets not only provided valuable technical skills to its interns, but also helped shape their character as they worked to inspire the next generation of young drone cadets. We look forward to seeing what Dane will accomplish as he continues to pursue his dreams.
