Driving Transformation: Empowering Change, Innovation, and Well-being Across Our Marine Industry

Driving Transformation: Empowering Change, Innovation, and Well-being Across Our Marine Industry

In the last two weeks, we've embarked on several productive initiatives with our key stakeholders, including discussions with academics, marine industry leaders, the ambassador, and our valued employees.

1. Organizational Transformation Seminar Event

I had the honor of guest lecturing for an MM Executive class at PPM School of Management, where I shared my insights and experiences in business transformation.

In today’s fast-paced business environment, change is the only constant. Transformational leadership begins with managing these changes within ourselves. Continuous learning and self-improvement are not just ideals but necessities. We must constantly adapt, evolve, and grow to meet the demands of our roles and the expectations of our stakeholders. The key also lies in our ability to think strategically, act decisively, influence positively, and drive our teams and organizations toward achieving tangible results. This dynamic approach ensures that we stay relevant and effective in an ever-changing business landscape.

2. SIRE 2.0 Program

“In today’s world, change is the only constant.”

In a proactive effort to enhance maritime safety and operational efficiency, Pertamina Marine Solutions PT Pertamina Marine Solutions (PMSol) recently convened key marine industry stakeholders to discuss the upcoming SIRE 2.0 program. This initiative marks a significant advancement in maritime inspection standards, focusing on cutting-edge digitalization, real-time data collection, and a comprehensive risk-based approach. Pertamina Marine Solutions underscored the importance of adaptability, encouraging all industry stakeholders to prepare for the new standards that SIRE 2.0 will introduce.

3. Mental Health for Seafarers

“Kena Mental? No More”

Managing over 2,000 vessel crews who are vital in helping Pertamina transport approximately 150 KL of energy cargoes across Indonesia, PT Pertamina Marine Solutions (PMSol) fully recognizes the critical role seafarers play in ensuring our nation’s energy security, affordability, accessibility, and sustainability. However, their work comes with unique challenges. Unlike those of us in the office, seafarers spend over six months away from their families, working in isolation on vessels, often performing routine tasks day after day. If left unaddressed, these conditions can significantly impact their mental health, performance, and overall well-being.

This week, we took a significant step by engaging in a crucial discussion with the International Maritime Health Association and the Kesatuan Pelaut Indonesia to tackle this issue head-on. Moving forward, we are committed to collaborating closely with all stakeholders to develop joint initiatives, conduct research, and implement programs to support the mental well-being of our seafarers. By combining the warmth of human connection with innovative digital solutions, we believe we can make a real difference in improving the mental health of those who keep our seas moving.

4. Potential Cooperation with Panama

We had a fruitful discussion with His Excellency Mr. Manuel Antonio Saturno, the Ambassador of Panama to Indonesia. Our conversation focused on exploring further collaboration opportunities in the marine industry, particularly in the areas of crew services and marine solutions.

5. National Independence Day

We proudly celebrated Indonesian Independence Day. By donning traditional attire from various regions, we embraced the beauty of our nation’s cultural diversity and unity. This rich tapestry of cultures reflects the strength that drives our business performance. We also view this freedom as an opportunity to break through any barriers. In this transformational year, we are fortunate to have a supportive environment that empowers us to grow together.
