DRIVING POSITIVE CHANGE: 2023/24 IMPACT REPORT

We are excited to announce the launch of the Nottingham Forest Community Trust (NFCT) 2023/24 Impact Report, a comprehensive review of the difference our programmes are making in the local community.

This report, developed in collaboration with Evid Impact, highlights the Trust’s achievements over the past year showcasing the positive social, physical, and mental wellbeing improvements experienced by our participants across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

A YEAR OF TRANSFORMATION

Throughout the 2023/24 season, NFCT continued to deliver on its mission of creating meaningful change by focusing on three key pillars:

  1. HEALTH & WELLBEING
  2. EDUCATION, TRAINING & EMPLOYMENT
  3. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

The Impact Report details how our inclusive programmes have helped individuals and communities thrive by improving health outcomes, developing educational and personal development, and building stronger, more connected neighbourhoods.

Headline results include:

  • 88% OF PARTICIPANTS REPORTED IMPROVEMENTS IN THEIR PHYSICAL WELLBEING.
  • 80% EXPERIENCED A POSITIVE IMPACT ON THEIR MENTAL HEALTH.
  • 82% OF PARTICIPANTS FELT THAT NFCT’S PROGRAMMES ENHANCED THEIR PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, WITH YOUNGER PARTICIPANTS DISPLAYING RESILIENCE LEVELS 15% HIGHER THAN THE NATIONAL AVERAGE.
  • 74% OF ADULT PARTICIPANTS REPORTED A STRONG SENSE OF BELONGING TO THEIR LOCAL COMMUNITY, UNDERLINING THE TRUST’S ROLE IN STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY TIES.

Calum Osborne, Nottingham Forest Community Trust Chief Executive Officer said,

“This year’s Impact Report reflects the incredible commitment of our team and partners, as well as the inspiring stories of those we serve.

“We’re proud of the progress we’ve made in improving lives, and we remain dedicated to pushing forward, delivering even greater results in the coming years.

“Our focus on health, education, and community engagement continues to shape everything we do, and we look forward to building on these foundations to create even more opportunities for growth and development across Nottingham and beyond.”

MEASURING OUR IMPACT

As part of our commitment to accountability and continuous improvement, NFCT worked closely with Evid Impact to design an evaluation framework tailored to our strategic outcomes. Data was collected from over 1,200 participants, including juniors, adults, parents, and wider community stakeholders. This robust evaluation enabled us to benchmark our success against local, regional, and national averages, providing invaluable insights into how we can better serve our community.

Our focus on long-term engagement continues to be a driving factor in delivering impactful change. The report reveals that participants who had been involved with NFCT programmes for more than a year consistently reported higher scores across 10 out of 11 indicators, demonstrating the sustained benefits of our work.

LOOKING AHEAD

The 2023/24 Impact Report not only celebrates the achievements of the past year but also sets the stage for the future. As we move into the 2024/25 season, NFCT remains dedicated to deepening our impact. We will continue working alongside Evid Impact to refine our evaluation approach, focusing on delivering even more targeted support for those who need it most.

Our commitment to building a healthier, more connected, and prosperous Nottingham is stronger than ever. With the insights gained from this year’s report, we are poised to further enhance our programmes, ensuring that we continue to drive positive change for years to come.
