Driving Meaningful Culture Change Through Employee Engagement

Driving Meaningful Culture Change Through Employee Engagement

All too often, organizations try to dictate cultural change from the top-down without looping in the very people who live that culture every single day - the frontline employees. This disconnect leads to initiatives falling flat and change efforts stalling out. Not good!

Last week my business partner, Sue, interviewed Julie Coneset (one of our rockstar transformational coaches) in a recent episode of the “Culture Change RX” podcast. Julie was a key player in helping guide our local healthcare organization through a remarkable cultural shift.?

Julie shares a lack of open communication and employee engagement can create a toxic environment of fear, uncertainty, and low morale. Yikes!

“There was a lot of fear, a lot of uncertainty… every day, you weren’t sure what orders were going to come down from, to quote some of the staff, the Eiffel Tower.”

When your most valuable assets (employees!) feel unheard and undervalued, you can kiss that positive culture goodbye. It becomes an uphill battle to drive any meaningful change.

The light at the end of the tunnel? Empowering employees through formal engagement teams and initiatives!

  • Identify real issues and gather staff feedback to shape leadership town halls
  • Leverage survey data to pinpoint key training needs
  • Give staff a structured way to collaborate on solutions

By giving employees an official seat at the table, you create an engaged, invested workforce that actively improves their environment from the ground up. It's a culture transformation game changer!

So let's take a page from Julie's book and find more ways to amplify our staff's voices. These are the people living the day-to-day realities after all - their perspectives are pure gold for positive change.

Who's ready to kick employee engagement into high gear? I would love to hear your thoughts!?

Let's chat!
