Driving Change: SAS Foundation’s Milestone E-Waste Collection Drive in Sector 76, Faridabad

In an era where environmental sustainability has become a global priority, every small step toward responsible waste management contributes to a cleaner and greener future. On 8th December 2024, Swavalamban Avam Swabhimaan Foundation (SAS Foundation) took another significant step in this journey by organizing its 16th e-waste collection drive in Sector 76, Faridabad.

This initiative saw remarkable collaboration between community leaders and corporate partners. The drive was spearheaded by Dr. Nitin Saini (Secretary, SAS Foundation), Shravan Dabi (TCS), Abhishek Srivastava (General Secretary, Vardan RWA), and Sanjay Sharma (Treasurer, Vardan RWA), with valuable on-ground support from Attero 's Arjun and Monu.

Engaging Communities for a Sustainable Tomorrow

The residents of Sector 76 actively participated in the drive, donating their e-waste and learning about the critical role they play in recycling efforts. SAS Foundation, along with Attero, emphasized the importance of responsible e-waste disposal and explained how their discarded electronics would be safely and effectively recycled.

This drive led to the collection of 1 washing machine, lcd tv, smartphone, feature phone and ~26 Kgs of miscellaneous e-waste.

Achievements That Inspire

This successful event marks an important milestone in SAS Foundation’s ongoing mission to tackle e-waste pollution:

  • Sector 76 Impact: Across four drives in Sector 76, ~441 Kgs of e-waste have been collected and recycled.
  • 2024 Progress: With this drive, our total collection this year reached ~2296 Kgs!
  • Revised Target: Seeing the growing impact of these efforts, we’ve increased our annual e-waste recycling target from 2 tonnes to 3 tonnes.

Expanding the Reach

SAS Foundation has been relentlessly expanding its footprint, conducting e-waste drives in Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Mumbai, Bangalore, and soon in Chennai. Each city adds to our vision of creating a sustainable waste management ecosystem.

Gratitude and Call to Action

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Shravan Dabi, whose leadership and dedication to e-waste awareness have been instrumental in mobilizing support in Sector 76. It is inspiring to see how collective action can lead to such remarkable results.

At SAS Foundation, we firmly believe that sustainability is not just a choice—it’s a responsibility. Our e-waste drives are a testament to what communities can achieve when united by a shared purpose.
