Driving Change: My Concrete Achievements as a UN Volunteer

As a United Nations Volunteer, I've made significant contributions to sustainable development and environmental conservation. Here are my key accomplishments:

  1. Fundraising Success in Papua New Guinea: Secured 60,000 PNG Kina through effective grant proposal writing for a Canadian initiative. Demonstrated expertise in Pacific region operations, Project Management Office (PMO) environments, UN project management tools, and financial management.
  2. Ocean Innovation Challenge (OIC) Blue Economy Project in PNG: Planned and implemented blue economy initiatives. Secured up to US$40,000 in funding from the UK OIC Incubator for a 6-month pilot program. Achieved a 27% increase in sustainable blue economy initiatives, positively impacting coastal communities in Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
  3. Project Assurance and Energy Program Expertise: Demonstrated experience in project assurance, particularly in energy programs. Contributed to waste-to-energy initiatives, promoting sustainable resource management.
  4. Financial and Procurement Management: Applied in-depth knowledge of UN financial and procurement rules and regulations. Utilized financial management tools effectively to ensure project efficiency and compliance.

These accomplishments reflect my ability to secure funding, implement innovative projects, and drive measurable impact in sustainable development. My work has directly contributed to the advancement of blue economy initiatives and the improvement of coastal communities in challenging environments.
