Error: [Redacted drive letter and share path]
In this issue, the user had gotten a new machine and was getting an error when connecting to. In addition, the new machine was Azure AD joined whereas the credentials to access the drive were still on-prem domain joined.
To resolve, I first attempted a reboot which didn't work.
I disconnected the drive using net use, which is a handy little command - syntax here.
net use - shows all connections
net use [drive letter :] delete- deletes drive letter.
After I deleted and tried to connect, got an error saying other drive letters were already connected using the same credentials so I couldn't connect again.
I unmapped the other drive letters and checked again for existing connections.
I was doing all of this in CMD- without running as admin.
Example to reconnect/remap: net use Z: \\machine\path /persistent:yes
When it came time to add the credentials using the domain joined account, it wouldn't let me enter the password, so I had to use the GUI to map it successfully.
That did allow me to enter the password successfully and resolve the issue.
