What to drive Change Fast and Easy?
Stop forcing or bullying people into change.
The more you force/bully/push/pressure/intimidate them the more people will resist or minimize cooperation.
Remember
People are not resisting change - they are resisting being changed.
So what is the fastest and easiest way to drive change?
Make change People's choice.
Ask yourself four questions.?
- Why is the change required??
- How do people benefit individually??
- Why are/will they resist?
- Why should they begin today?
If you don’t know the answers to these questions, neither will they.?
Below are the steps you can take to make change their choice:
Build Trust
- Demonstrate that you understand their situation and you’re acting in their best interest.
- Let someone with knowledge, experience, and credibility lead?
Establish Benefits
- Explain your assumptions and the rationale behind the need for change and then allow people time to absorb the same.
- Explain the possible positive outcomes and how that will benefit the system and people individually
Set baby milestones
- Set baby steps and milestones. Measure progress along the way.
- Create a sense of urgency and achievement when a milestone is achieved
Take above measures will motivate and enable people to make change their choice and take ownership of change.
So you need to change your approach to drive change.
